PDF Workspace

Merge, reorder, rotate, number, resize and export PDFs in a single canvas. Files are parsed and rebuilt entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded — and your session is auto-saved locally so an accidental tab close never costs you the work.

How it works

Imported files are kept as immutable sources, and the document you compose is an ordered list of page references into them. Reordering, rotating and deleting only touch that list, so editing stays instant no matter how large the document is — the real PDF is assembled once, when you export. Thumbnails render lazily, at most three at a time, and are released from memory as you scroll away.

Handles awkward files

  • Corrupted PDFs — a broken cross-reference table is detected and rebuilt on confirmation.
  • Encrypted PDFs — prompts for the password, then produces an editable copy.
  • Images — PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and HEIC are converted to pages automatically.

FAQ

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Every operation in this workspace runs in your browser, and your session is stored only in your own browser's IndexedDB.
Why is there a 50-page limit per batch?
It is a deliberate memory safeguard. Rasterising unbounded pages is what freezes a browser tab, so the queue is capped and anything beyond it is refused with a clear message rather than silently dropped.
Can it password-protect a PDF?
Not yet. The underlying library can read encrypted PDFs but cannot write encryption, so this will arrive with the server toolchain rather than being faked locally.
What happens if I close the tab by accident?
Your work is auto-saved to local storage as you edit. Reopen the tool and it will offer to restore the session, including the original file bytes.
Does unlocking an encrypted PDF lose anything?
Locally, yes — the pages are re-rendered to unlock them, so text stops being selectable. Lossless decryption needs the server toolchain.
