How to Watermark a Course or E-Book for Each Buyer

When you sell a PDF course or e-book, one buyer can share it for free, and identical copies can't be traced. This guide shows how to mark each copy with the buyer's details so sharing is discouraged and a leak can be traced. It's made for course creators, authors, coaches and training companies.

Choose the kind of mark

Decide what fits your product: visible text with the buyer's name or email, an anti-screenshot grid, an invisible forensic mark, or a stamp. You can combine a visible deterrent with an invisible mark for both effects.

Prepare your buyer list

Collect the buyer details you want in each copy — usually a name or email per buyer. A CSV list lets you do a whole batch at once.

Open the watermarker

Go to the Course & E-Book Watermarker. It runs in your browser, so your paid content is never uploaded. Load your PDF or e-book.

Generate the copies

Add your buyer list, pick the mark, and let the tool build one personalized copy per buyer — up to 50 at a time — and export them as a ZIP.

Deliver and keep records

Send each buyer their own copy, and keep a record of which mark went to whom. If a copy leaks, the mark shows the source.

You can't make a file impossible to copy. A per-buyer mark makes copies risky to share and easy to trace — which is usually enough.
